I just finished reading a fantastic book about space and Astro-politics by Tim Marshall : The Future of Geography. I am going to share with you the top ten most interesting facts from the book in this post.
In the Space Race, both the USA and Russia tried to secretly hide their failures but they didn't know that the enemy knew about what had happened.
There are around 100 bags of urine and waste left in space and on the moon!
The ISS is due to be decommissioned in the early 2030s.
After the invasion of Ukraine, many satellites that were meant to take off on Russian rockets did not launch because the countries backed out of the deal.
Space wars can actually happen and countries might actually use lasers to shoot the enemy's satellites.
Many countries have started testing destructive missiles and lasers to destroy things as big as asteroids.
Elon Musk and his SpaceX company are planning to get a city on Mars by the 2040s.
There is a way to get oxygen on the moon by mixing and separating chemicals.
On Mars and on the Moon there are traces of water/ice making it habitable.
There is potential for an underground city on the moon.
